The Story behind Crafty Pals

Crafty Pals originated from two crafty sisters with a shared love of creating arts and crafts from lots of different materials. Whether it be slate, shells, beads, paint, wool and fibres the more natural the product the better. 

In 2021 I, Diana was given a needle felting kit of a Fox by my sister. It sat gathering dust for a year, as I was painting glass at the time. I realised I needed a product much lighter for the odd craft fair I attended, so in 2022 out it came. I fell in love with the craft of needle felting fibres together, and so it began, watching tutorials, looking at Facebook groups and learning about different fibres, needles and differing felting ways.

My first felt portrait was of my dog Finley a gorgeous white Japanese Akita when I discovered to my delight I could create sculptures and images with his beautiful fur. Now I specialise in creating realistic and artistic portraits of other animals for their owners and when possible incorporate their own fur into the portrait.
